"MAIL ORDER MONSTERS CD-RELEASE SHOW
NOISEWAVES, MAVERICKS & MONARCHS
When: 9:30 p.m.
Thursday Admission: Free
Where: Founders Brewing Co., Grand Rapids
So, Mail Order Monsters has an engaging moniker but perhaps an even more engaging musical approach: The Grand Rapids trio writes and performs original tunes using only Commodore 64 computers, a true antique when it comes to technology, considering they were discontinued back in 1994 after selling millions upon millions of units. The "chiptune" band uses multiple keyboards connected to Commodore audio circuitry during its live shows. Band members are celebrating release of their debut album, in LP and CD form, and some special guests will be joining them on Thursday night. Oh, and band member Rich Vogel tells me they do "a pretty rockin" synth metal cover of "Electric Funeral" by Black Sabbath." Sweet. Details online at foundersbrewing.com."
We are super excited to announce our debut album will be released on August 28th at our record release show at Founders Taproom! We'll be playing with our super talented local pals Noisewaves and Mavericks and Monarchs. This is a free show! Please come out for a night of great local jams, and help support Mail Order Monsters by being the first to grab our new LP. Lineup for the night will be:
Mavericks and Monarchs 10:30
Mail Order Monsters 11:45
This is our debut album release, and we couldn't be happier with how this turned out. This will be available on high quality 140 gram Vinyl LP, on CD, and also via digital download. We'll have LP's and CD's available at the show.
We'll have this album available for sale online on August 29th on LP / CD and digital download.
We'll be projecting video at the show, complete with a whole bunch of new videos we've put together for the songs. We'll also have a few special guests joining us onstage! Don't miss!
Facebook event information is here:
Our Debut LP is being manufactured right now, and will be in our hands mid August! So excited to share this! We will be releasing this on LP / CD and digital download, plus streaming (iTunes / Spotify / All That Stuff / Commodore 64 BBS / Lazer Waffle 3000 etc.)
This album was recorded / engineered at the Keyclub Studio in Benton Harbor by Bill Skibbe, mixed and produced by Rich Vogel and Mail Order Monsters, and mastered by Bo Kondren at Calyx Studios in Berlin Germany. The cover artwork and label artwork were created by Alex Schlegel (LM from 10eastern). This was mastered specifically for vinyl too and cut to laquers from the mastering plant! And mastered separately for digital.
We will be putting up a track or two in the coming month, and some new videos as well!
3. Internet Girlfriend
6. Electric Funeral
After 176 (okay maybe not that many) listens of each side of all 5 LP's we decided to stop playing them, and approve the test pressings. We're super excited to get the final LP's in our hands, and make them available!
We remastered the audio for Jenny and have uploaded it again to Youtube for your eyes and ears. This was filmed on location in space and at Nasa. Thanks to Kroehn Staelgithorgen for granting us access to his planets atmosphere.
